Natural Attractions


The natural beauty of Ethiopia amazes the first-time visitor. Ethiopia is a land of rugged mountains(25 of which are 12,000 feet high) broad savannah, lakes and rivers. The most famous volcano has been in a state of continuous eruption since 1967. Its small southerly crater is the only permanent lave lake on the planet.


Religious Attractions


The Ethiopian Orthodox Union church, an autonomous Christian Church headed by a patriarch and closely related to the Coptic Church of Egypt, was the state church of Ethiopia until 1974. About 40 percent of the people of Ethiopia are Christians, and Christianity is predominant in the north.

DAY 1 : Addis - Logeye
This will be a long drive but full of exciting desert land scape- lava mountains and numerous valleys. A 30 -40 minits stopover at Awash National Park drive. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Logeya.
DAY 2 : Logeyo - Afdera
In the morning we meet the local chief to get guides, camels and of course a permits. On a clear day to Eart Ale mountains could be viewed. We pass through amazing land scape all the way to Afdara. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Afdera.
DAY 3 : Afdera - Erta Ale

After a half day drive we beach Kursoma for Lunching and continue a three hours trekking on foot or by camels. Dinner and overnight will be under Earta Ale Mountains.

DAY 4 : Erta Ale - Amedela
A morning sun rise at Erat Ale and we continue back to Kuraswad . Breakfast at Kurmaswd.  We leave the comp and drive to Amedela. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Afdera.
DAY 5 : Amedela - Afdera
From Amedela it would be a direct drive to Dalol with a little stop at Lake Asal, visit to selt mines and the hot spring. On the way back to Amedela we will see the caravan of camels taking holt to Mekele Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Afdera.
DAY 6 : Afdera - Mekele

Drive from Mekele. We will see the camel caravans along the way, carrying salt from the salt lake to Mekele for sale.  Overnight camping in Mekele.

DAY 7 : Mekele - Lalibela
After breakfast full day drive to Lalibela. Lauch en route and overnight in Lalibela.
DAY 8 : Lalibela

In the morning, start your tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the Northwestern Cluster of churches - Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women).  After lunch, continue with the Southeastern Cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos.  Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia – King George.  Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 9 : Lalibela - Gonder

In the morning, driving to Gonder via Woreta, passing through Amhara state.  Overnight in Gonder.

DAY 10 : Gonder - Simen Mountain - (Sky of Africa)
Depart early in the morning from Gondar (7am at the latest), driving to Sankaber.  We will stop along the way to handle park fees, etc.  we will drop you in around Buyit Ras for a 3-4 hour hike to Sankaber, which passes close to the escarpment edge.  Nearing Sankaber, you will have beautiful views on both sides of the escarpment ridge where you will likely see the endemic Gelada baboons.  In Sankaber, we will meet you with your supplies.  Direct drive to Gonder. Over night and dinner in Gonder
DAY 11 : Gonder - Baher Dar

After breakfast drive to Bahar Dar capital city of Amhara region. On the way you will visit the Amhara land scape and Amharan tribes. Overnight in Baher Dar.

DAY 12 : Baher Dar

After Breakfast 8:00AM Drive 32kms South East of Bahirdar and walk up some distance and then proceed to visit the thundering “Tiss-Issat” fall which means Smoking Water in Amharic. Drive back to your hotel for lunch. Afternoon, four hour boat excursion on Lake Tana to visit

 

Ura Kidane Mihret and Zega Peninsual the most beautiful church anywhere in the Tana region. Set within bleak stone walls, the monastery was founded in the 14th century by a saint called Betre Maryam.

  Kibran Gabriel (allowed for men only) : it is founded in the 13th century by a hermit called Abuna Yohannis.

DAY 13 : Baher Dar - Addis

After breakfast 8:00AM drive from Addis to Bahir Dar. On the way Visit

 
Debre Libanos: One of the Ethiopia’s most holy sites. It was founded in the 13th century by priest credited not only with the spread of Christianity throughout the highlands, but also with the restoration of the Solomonic line of King. 
 

Blue Nile Gorge:

The most beautiful and winding scenic drive of all. Lunch en route. Dinner will be in famous Ethiopia Cultural restaurant with cultural live music. Overnight in hotel or Depart to your country.
